It seems like everyone I know has been sick lately. From Thanksgiving to Christmas we’ve all been passing colds back and forth to one another like some kind of hospital volleyball game. It hasn’t helped that the holiday season is full of delicious, immune-compromising treats that fill us until we look like stuffed turkeys. Don’t you wish there was a way to isolate foods in your diet that contribute to your being sick?
Well, it’s a new year! Now is the time for fresh starts and new beginnings; a time to clean out our closets and tidy up our lives. While you are making resolutions to spend more time with loved ones and find time for fitness, why not add one more “to-do” to your list? Something that will not only help remedy that pesky cold, but also help you cleanse yourself from eating all those Christmas cookies.
Ever heard of an elimination diet? An elimination diet is a great way to detox and also fantastic for finding out if you have food sensitivities. Sensitivities to foods cause damage to your gut and tax your immune system. And that’s not something we want as we are making our way through cold and flu season!
So let’s do this! Let’s do a clean sweep of the holiday sludge and resolve this new year to eliminate and detox.
In this series, I will tell you all about the elimination diet, why you want to do it and how to make it work for you. Here’s to your health!
